Crafty Quotes ... love these

To craft or not to craft, that is the question:
To layer, perchance to mat,
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to decoupage
or embellish,
To trim, perhaps to weep to wet the mulberry,
Spirelli or spin, or seal, or stick,
Or stamp and emboss,
aye there's always the rub (on transfer)
Or simply dust.

I got up this morning, but haven't yet dressed
My dishes aren't done, and the house is a mess
Have not done my work, or fed the cat
Just on line for a second, and popped into chat!Theres so much to say, so much crafting to do
I'm sitting here now with glitter, scissors and glue
But O'dear me, i'm finding it hard
When all I need is to make my next card.....
I know tomorrow, I'll make a fresh start...........
Just You wait till you see My New Work of Art!!!!!!

She learned to stamp on Monday
her embossing was quite fine.
She forgot to set out dinner....
so away out we went to dine.
She brayered backgrounds Tuesday
she says they are a must....
they really are quite lovely
but there was no time to dust.
On Wednesday it was birthday cards
she claims that chalking's fun
shading, blending and water-colouring
but the laundry wasn't done.
Her card swap was on Thursday
she had to use green, blue and red,
it was obvious she was really engrossed
when she failed to make the bed.
It was Shaker cards on Friday
using techniques that she just adores,
what a pity she then failed to notice
the crumbs dropped all over the floors.
I found a maid on Saturday!
My week is now complete
my wife can stamp her hours away
and the house will still be neat.
Well, already it is Sunday
and my forehead's feeling damp
cos I've cursed, and raved and ranted
for the Maid has learned to stamp!!

I started out with just one topper,

and then I bought some more.
I decided that a shoebox would make
an ideal store.
Then as I added inks & pens,
my craft collection grew.
So I bought a roomy plastic crate,
it would last for years, I knew.
Embossing then became my thing,
with powder & a heat gun.
Metallics, tinsels, pearls & clear,
I soon had everyone.
By now my lovely plastic crate
was spilling everywhere.
And my glitter glue collection
lay scattered on a chair.
My husband started muttering
and said things had to stop.
So I bought a huge old wardrobe
at the local charity shop.
But after a while, I couldn't shut the door
and I put shelves in the spare room
to accomodate yet more.

Our house is now for sale,
something larger being sought.
By the way, did I show you,
The latest stamp I bought!

A Craftaholic’s Prayer

Dear Lord,
I’m going to need some notice
Before my days are done.
You see, I’m a craftaholic.
A fact not known to some.
My craft room, it is bulging
All corners, crannies and nooks
There's loads of boxes under the bed,
I hope no one ever looks
I tell myself when shopping,
“No more craft bits today,”
But the craft shops are like magnets
Drawing me their way.
I’m totally at their mercy
Just "need" a dozen of each.
Then I hurry home to hide them
Before the family starts to preach.
So Lord, I’ll need a little time
To dispose of all this stuff.
And Lord, can we just keep all of this,
Between the two of us

Come on baby ... light my fire !! Entry for Tuesday Taggers Challenge and One Stop Craft Challenge

Just a note about ....My Topnote

This is a 'take' on a card made by Kathyc. I just loved her card so much and wanted to make a similar one.
Strips of paper glues to a scrap of card. Using the card I cut the top note from a nestability on C/Bug. Penned in the stitches. Made a flower again from nestabilites and cut on C/Bug. Stamped over it with versamark and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Added a button and a sentiment.

pretty flower made mainly on the C/Bug

Do you like my flower ? :)   I love it

Quite simple to make yet very very effective
I made mine out of card but it would be even simpler if you made it out of paper or vellum.... and still just as effective
Of course once made you can then pretty it up even more with sparkles, glitter, gems etc etc
There are 2 vid clips explaining how to make the flower and they are below for you to have a go  :)

Shrink hearts - Valentine on overload

I wanted to make some phone/purse charms and also some embellishments for hubby's valentine card so reached for a nestability heart and cut some out on shrinkies paper (clear)
Punched a hole in the ones for the charms and stamped with versamark. Covered them on one side in embossing powder and heated with heat gun. With them being clear the embossing powder shows through on both sides.
Made quite a few charms and then a few more without the punched hole for the valentine card....

altered tin notebook

So here I am still on the theme of notebooks or notepads whatever you want to call them.
I bought a few of the tin notebooks in the january sales, you know the sort they have a thin metal cover usually a gold colour, but very flat and bland ...
So I decided to try and jazz one of them up. I used Adirondak Alcohol Inks and a blender mixed up my inks and began to podge all over until I had the desired effect.
Left the inks to dry which didnt take long just a few minutes. Then stuck on the butterfly embellishment and a gem ...
Certainly looks brighter than when I bought it .....  lol

I made a note pad today for a change ideal for by the phone or in your bag

I didnt feel like making any cards today so I went into the world of notepads.
Never made one before so it was full of disasters but I got there in the end.
The outer part (front and back) is made from strong card which I scored to one edge so the notebook would open better.
The papers inside were cut a little bit smaller. I stamped a tree on the front mainly because it was the first stamp I found  ...  lol  I stamped with versamark and then embossed with gold sparkle embossing powder. I stamped it onto a bit of lighter card and used a Martha Stewart punch for a bit of further decoration then stuck it onto the strong card. I added a bit of ribbon and was quite pleased with the result. Punched the holes for the ribbon of course .........
Ideal for by the phone or in your bag

Double edged gift tags with a spellbinder middle

Well I couldnt get motivated today to do any cards
I have started to design some notebooks and have been playing with ideas
but they are not ready to show yet ... lol
Then I got fed up with that and decided to try and do some double edging on the cuttlebug.
I  needed to make a couple of tags for a birthday present.
I cut out the tag with some home made embossing card - do you know how to make that ?  I can put some instructions up later on if anyone is interested.
Anyway I cut out a scalloped cirle and left the cut out in the die, then got a smaller sixed circle and laid it on top of the die still in the original die cut and by using a tan mat embossed the smaller cirle inside so as to make a double edge.  I then cut an even smaller circle out for the middle of the tag and this time did the embossing with part of a spellbinder stencil.
The end result is here and was rather pretty I thought .....
